Understated yet striking dresses about women, for she who dress for herself
Founder and creative director of BON BRIDÉ is ex fashion buyer and product developer, Pippa Cooke. Having spent over ten years immersed in the industry, buying for retail giant Topshop, cult label House of Hackney and Luxury department store Harrods, Pippa felt the time was right to adopt her fashion forward aesthetic and disrupt the bridal industry.
With BON BRIDÉ, Pippa creates understated yet striking dresses about women and for women who dress for themselves. With feminist principles at its core, BON BRIDÉ does things differently, breaking from the norms of the modern wedding.
“I want the brand to offer alternative options and for each collection to evolve with a new generation of modern women. It is not “timeless” and it doesn’t claim to create “classic” pieces. Its of the moment and it celebrates the women of this moment in time, the bride of now, BON bride.” Pippa Cooke
Whether from the collection or the bespoke service, BON BRIDÉ defines itself by making each dress unique. The personalised service offers an exclusive experience that has been the founder’s aspiration since she got married herself in 2013.
“No one dress can suite everyone and nor should it, I want to offer flexibility for every bride to put their own stamp on their look ” Pippa Cooke
Unapologetically bold, brave and timeless.
She is much less concerned with something old, and more concerned with something true. She knows that love like this is not what they spoke of in fairy tales. She is not interested in their promises of happily ever afters, or the handsome prince. She is more in love with the world and dreams instead of how she will best conquer it.
She knows that this is not the end of the story; but in fact, that this is where all the greatest love stories begin- right here, with ‘I Do’. She is a soul searching power force. She is the essence of adventure and this is just another one under her belt. She is her.
The Bowie Rae bride knows she is unique yet timeless, bold yet tasteful, daring yet elegant. That no two Bowie Rae brides should ever look the same. That the Bowie Rae bride is unlike any other- that she has an intangible edge that will make her the statement piece – she has style, vision and a daring spirit that will not waiver in the something old- that together we rewrite the rules.
each gown is an audacious step away from the traditional classics.
the L’eto muse; a beatnik babe and citizen of the world and a pathfinder just like herself. A lover of art and architecture, this fearless and confident woman knows her balance in the world. She is an unashamed expresser of self, and is proud of her own free spirit.
Given carte blanche, each gown is an audacious step away from the traditional classics. Conventional silhouettes and wedding dress details are re-imagined into fluid, contemporary shapes. Each collection will take you on an incredible journey and tell a story of a character finding herself every step of the way. We hope that you will appreciate the way each dress is designed to resonate with you.
Artisan skills and ancient craftsmanship steeped in the magical world of couture.
The story of our gowns is one of art and beauty, artisan skills and ancient craftsmanship steeped in the magical world of couture. Influenced by an undying affinity with the romance of bohemia, our signature slow luxury aesthetic is grounded in ancient artisan techniques, uncomplicated styling and easy elegance.
Designed and hand cut our couture gowns are hand beaded in our quiet Atelier in India. Using the ancient Indian art of Tambour, each bead is carefully hand-sewn onto the finest silk by local master craftsmen and women over a three to six month process. Tambour Beading was first introduced to the Western world in 18th century France, where it was named after the french word for drum. Its origins, some believe, are from Gujarat, India, where it was recognised as early as the 16th century as a technique used for beading luxurious designs onto fine fabrics.
Lovingly hand-dyed in loose-leaf White Tea, our gowns celebrate a feminine and carefree romanticism with delicate hand beading and embroidery using the ancient Indian art of Tambour. We strive to encourage handmade creations and work to honour and protect the craft of Tambour in every collection. We incorporate this age-old technique into each design as it produces finer, more intricate work than machine beading, which is a favoured method in garment manufacturing today.
